Introduction of the height control

The diagram-components of the rear height control
The front height control system was already deleted from chassisnumber 7404. When the owners wished to, the company adapted the present front height control on early cars during a service turn-out. The front height control is explained on the component page of this system.

The next text is dedicated to the rear height control system. This levelling system uses the next components. The reservoir (on the left of the drawing), the pumps (right of it) and, the accumulators take care of the pressurising. The electro-magnetic solenoid valve together with the restrictor valves control the height control valve. The height control valve and the ram valves manage the height of the car. Each ram valve has a bleed point.
The height control is part of the second high pressure system which includes that it is connected to the rear compartiment of the reservoir, the rear pump on the engine and the rear (on the Shadow II the left) accumulator.
