Dashboard of a Camargue

Dashboard of a Rolls-Royce Camargue.

The dashboard above is of a Rolls-Royce Camargue. The instruments have the looks of airplane-instruments. But the lay-out of the dashboard has a lot in common with the dashboard of a Silver Shadow. The ignition unit, for instance, is positioned at the utmost left (LHD), the speedometer on the left directly above the steering column, the cooling-liquid temperature indicator and the petrol indicator on the right, a massive wooden panel before the cubby box and the famous bulls eyes on the left and on the right in the dashboard. Also the gear lever and the small window for the gear lever indicator on top of the steering column are the same as in the Silver Shadow.
Yet the Camargue had its distinguishing marks of its own, like the part where the upper dashboard and lower dashboard are integrated. And in the first few years the Camargue was rather unique with its split-level airconditioning with separated temperature adjusting.
The picture above is of a Camargue delivered in 1987 (therefore one of the last Camargues), the pictures below are of a Camargue from 1979.
