Number of cars in this list: 166    (33%) Other models than the Silver Shadow In 1965 and 1966 (until 1968) Rolls-Royce also sold cars of the model Phantom V. These are not mixed up with the chassisnumbers of the Silver Shadow and are not part of the series on these pages. Begin and end of series The last James-Young 2-door saloon James Young had to cease production already after 50 copies. The last Rolls-Royce was the CRH2269, the last Bentley the CBH2278. Technical changes The SRH2050 was the first car with a modified windscreen wiper motor. After turning off the wipers they still make an extra movement before they come back in rest. Different models Many owners of Silver Shadows and Bentleys T converted their car to other models. In the gallery of pictures you can find a lot of examples. The 2075 left the vehicle line as a Bentley T and is afterwards modified into a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow stretched limousine. Other details of manufacturing 1. The production of chassisnumber 2000 started in August 1966. But only a few cars in this list got already a VIN plate in 1966. 2. James Young. Remarkable are the series Silver Shadows with a coach by James Young. In the period of January until August 1966 there are not many James Young coaches produced and it looks like the production of this model only accelerated in the second half of 1966. In this list it is clear that the chassis of James Young and Mulliner, Park Ward (MPW) were mixed on production. 3. Convertible. The Silver Shadow MPW convertible was only launched in October 1967. The first chassisnumbers that were destined for the convertibles, date from spring 1966. The first number was 1698. Only from number 2700 production of the convertibles started regularly. The here mentioned convertibles can be considered as the pre-series or prototypes of the convertibles. 4. Model not known. Of several MPW's I can't determine whether it is a 2-door saloon or a convertible. In these first years of production it can't be determined by the chassisnumber either. In those cases I have defined the car as a MPW and I have pointed out with a ?? that I don't know the exact model. Double numbers Some numbers I have met in different appearances. For example SBX1268 also as SBH1268. Most of the double numbers are caused by the wrong notification of the owner. In the list on the site in these cases I mentioned the most probable chassisnumber. The double numbers in this series are: LRX2306 also noticed as SRX2306 SBH2412 also noticed as CRX2412. The Bentley T MPW 2-door saloon CBH2018, a rather rare model.
