The chassisnumbers of the Phantom VI untill 1978 were part of the 4000-series. Begin and end of series The Bentley Corniche The Rolls-Royce Corniche was introduced on number 9770 for the 2-door saloon and on number 9919 for the convertible. The DBH10122 was the first Bentley Corniche convertible. In comparison with its predecessor, the Bentley T Mulliner Park Ward convertible, the Bentley Corniche convertible was provided with several modifications on the electrical hood, reinforcements on the substructure, new hub caps, rectangular reverse lights, standard front fog lights, a special Corniche steering wheel, many changes to the dashboard (like a rev counter), a changed grille (deeper) and still many changes more. Technical changes 1. The cruise control became available as an option from chassisnumber SRX10322. 2. A new Lucas wash/wipe control unit was introduced on chassisnumber SRH10400. 3. The flat wheel dics were replaced by ventilated wheel discs on chassisnumber SRH10500. The flat wheel discs stayed available on the American market. Different models In this series no different models occur. Other details of manufacturing The production of chassisnumber 10000 started in January 1971. Double numbers Some numbers I have met in different appearances. For example SBX1268 also as SBH1268. Most of the double numbers are caused by the wrong notification of the owner. In the list on the site in these cases I mentioned the most probable chassisnumber. The double numbers in this series are: SRX10396 also noticed as SRH10396. The first Long wheelbase with a chassisnumber above 10000, this 1971 American LRX10004.
