Number of cars in this list: 188    (38%) Beginning and end of series In this series of numbers no begin or end of a model type occurs. Technical changes 1. The most important technical change by far in this series is the modification of the front suspension, introduced on chassisnumber SRH13485 (Long Wheelbase on LRX13201). To improve the adhesion and to be able to change the hydraulic system, the wheel base was enlarged from 119,5 inch (3035,3 mm) to 120,06 inch (3049,6 mm) and the track from 57,5 inch (1460,5 mm) to 59,5 inch (1511,3 mm) at the front and 57,75 inch (1466,9 mm) at the rear. The 205 mm wide diagonal tyres were replaced by 205 mm radial tyres (205VR x 15). 2. Starting with chassisnumber SRA13178 the sound system was improved with Philips double cone speaker. 3. The coachbuilt cars for the Amerikan market got a package of changes. Some highlights were a panel-control switch, a new wiper motor, thorough changes of the dashboard and a change of the licence-plate lighting. The changes started at DRA13413 and CRA13459 (see pictures below). Different models In this series no different models occur. Other details of manufacturing 1. The production of chassisnumber 13000 started in February 1972. 2. Prototypes for the modified front suspension. At the technical changes is mentioned that a modification of the front suspension was launched on number SRH13485. Before this modification was introduced, the front suspension was tested on some prototypes. That were the 12586, 12687 and 12853 (not in this 13000-series) and the SRH13066 and LRH13084 (Long Wheelbase). Other models than the Silver Shadow Alongside the Silver Shadow models Rolls-Royce also sold the Phantom VI. The chassisnumbers of the Phantom VI untill 1978 were part of the 4000-series.     This is the first Rolls-Royce Corniche 2-door saloon (CRA13459) with the changes mentioned above.
